Our farm was built in 1973 and at that time we had a Black Pony mare named Trixie and a Pinto/Paint mare named C-Patches. Both were in foal . We built a four stall barn thinking that was all the space we needed. Well, as time passed we soon had 10 horses, an extent ion on our barn and a riding school started. Prince a Lee, a Quarter Horse Stallion was the first stallion we raised and was used for breeding. He was a Champion, and a well mannered horse, who was loved by many people. His Son, Lees Apache Kiowa, out of C-Patches was a Supreme Champion Pinto Horse and started his breeding activities at the age of 3. The riding school lasted for ten years and was very popular. Not only did we have riding lessons but we taught Horse Management, and Horse Showing Responsibilities both in training the horse and actual showing, in all day activities. We had a weekly summer school which covered all of the above as well.
After back surgery in 1980, we decided to close the riding school and dedicate our energies to breeding and raising horses that not only could be Halter shown but also perform if wanted, or just be a good family horse. Our Manager and trainer, Michael Cummings, started his employment here, at that time too, and is still turning out many winners in Halter, and performance and all around type horses. In August 1988, Kenny Rogers came all the way from California as a surprise birthday present from my husband. We had seen him when he was 2 weeks old and I had expressed how much I thought of his potential, never thinking that I would own him.
We now have two barns that house thirty horses, have eight to ten babies a year and also bought a Black Pinto/Paint Stallion named Onyx that we use to breed to Kenny Rogers daughters. We cover many miles showing our offspring of Kenny Rogers and Onyx including the Pinto World Show in Tulsa OK. and the World Paint Show in Fort Worth Texas.
Kenny has also been popular opening big events carrying the American Flag for the National Anthem.
Today we have buyers from all over the country and have started with International market.
